Heifer International is John Palmer Art's 2012 Charity of the Year 02/20/2012
John Palmer Art has named Heifer International as its 2012 Charity of the Year. Heifer International is an Arkansas-based (501)(c)(3) organization whose mission is devoted to working with communities to end hunger and poverty and care for the earth. With gifts of livestock and training, Heifer International helps improve families' nutrition and generate income in sustainable ways. John Palmer Art applauds Heifer International for it's many years of devotion in assisting families through what they refer to as, "living loans."
Artist and Owner John Ross Palmer thinks the honor is clearly well-deserved. "I have followed along closely with Heifer International's incredible mission of teaching families to be self-relian--as it is so similar to my own mission of teaching artists to be self-reliant and not tied to the traditional art gallery system. I have to acknowledge my own long-time friends and collectors Ginger Gates and Gail Cheramie for introducing Heifer to me and inspiring this choice," says Palmer.

For being John Palmer Art's 2012 Charity of the Year, a portion of the funds raised at Palmer's black-tie gala on October 20, 2012 will be given to Heifer International. The Gallery will also host a "Heifer Party" on Sunday, December 2, 2012 where an original Palmer Heifer-inspired painting will be auctioned off with all proceeds going to Heifer International.
